Two minute guide to Curling from World Curling TV
How to Get Started Curling
If you need some extra instruction, we have a Learn to Curl program for adults in fall and winter sessions, and a Greenhorn league to get new curlers involved in league play with the extra help of instruction if needed.
If you are ready to join a league, CCC has league play every day throughout the season from 8:30 in the morning through to 11 at night. There are club leagues every evening, and associate leagues during the day.
Visit our Leagues Page for information on all of our leagues as well as contact information for the associate leagues that might be looking for more teams.
For fall sessions, registration will open September 11, 2017 and programs begin mid-October.
All programs are about 8 weeks in length.
Pre-registration is only available for past participants. New registrations are first call first in — instructional programs tend to fill quickly, so call/email early!

New session begins Oct 2017, cost ~$60
Saturdays 2:30 to 3:20pm or 3:30 to 4:20pm for 8 weeks.
In this program participants use “Lite” rocks which are similar in size to regular rocks but are lighter so they require less effort to deliver them. The program consists of instruction and play time in game-like situations but the primary focus is on fun and skill development. Brooms and sliders are provided. All participants must wear helmets and clean, soft-soled shoes. It gets chilly on the ice so please ensure your child is dressed appropriately.
It is expected that an adult responsible for your child be at the club while your child is on the ice.

This program is for teens who have participated in our Big Rock program and have demonstrated the required skill level. The purpose of this program is to introduce youth to game play in a nurturing atmosphere. The session will begin with some instruction and assessment. A larger portion of time will focus on game play. Participants will be coached and given pointers by an instructor who will monitor the games. Time will be allotted for technical instruction, strategy and etiquette.
There will be times that participants of Juniors will integrate with Big Rock participants.

Next session Oct 2017, cost ~$80
Saturdays at 5:00pm for 6 weeks
This adult instructional league is designed to be an introduction to league play for people who have recently taken curling lessons. While the main focus of the league is game-play, there will be instructors present to provide guidance, give pointers and answer questions. The first day of each session will consist of a refresher lesson before heading into a game. Subsequent classes will consist mostly of play.
All registrants must have participated in introductory curling lessons such as Learn To Curl, a Curling Crash Course, or private lessons. Participants are required to provide their own curling equipment, which
can be purchased or rented from Curler’s Corner, located inside the Calgary Curling Club.
